Considering the low-budget Gareth Edwards worked with to complete this film as well as the equipments he used, I find this piece of work definitely inspiring in ways I can not even describe.
Couple of things that drawn me into the piece was the editing and cinematography. Those two really added the plus to this film’s story and aesthetics. It was top and beautiful, even with the shaky/documentary-esque effect, which Edwards was after. The only tiny-bit that bothered me was the CGI since some were quite noticeable, but I made light of it and was rather then impressed on what was achieved. After all, Edwards does have the equipment Cameron have. (Pfft) I’m glad I got to see it at LAFF. And also glad that it got picked up and now being distributed, with this teaser underway.
And to add, for one of Edwards’ 2008 VFX projects, BBC’s Attila the Hun, he only used After Effects and PS….Man.
